Treasurer’s Report:
Genie reported the treasury balance as $2,801.68. Genie reported balance at the end of last year was $1,721.75. We have $210.00 so far this year from membership dues. We also paid $203.76 for our website. The Board approved the Christmas gifts for the Tampa Palm Employees – which was 2 $20.00 and one $30.00. We are not charged for the meeting space at Tampa Palms – they are always gracious in accommodating us and arranging our room.
Membership:
John reported we have 7 members that have paid their dues so far. We have 9 professional affiliates. –There were discussions of adding Frame by Frame as one of our affiliates, this will be considered after we have more information. It was agreed on by the Board not to order new membership cards just add a new expiration date to the card.
Events
Arlene discussed the need for more information from the Carrollwood Cultural Center in regards to the events for 2012. There is a possibility of holding an event at Frame by Frame – John agreed to look into this. There was discussion about a reception at Hunter’s Green in regards to NTAL displayed art. Hunter’s Green will be arranging all of this. More information will follow.
The Artist of the Month at the Library was discussed. Helen Dobbins no longer handles this. Jan said that maybe her Programs and Workshop committee could handle this for the rest of 2012.

We need a slate of officers for the elections which will be held in March 2012. Arlene agreed to run for President – and Carol will take over Events.
It was agreed to post the NTAL Bylaws on our Website.
Programs/Workshops:
January – Show and Tell
Jan discussed the NTAL Program & Workshop Committee meeting held on January 12, 2012. In attendance were Dorothy Banker, Magda Homsey and Jan Roser.
A lot of wonderful suggestions and ideas were presented from the committee.

Social media and artists’ presentation suggested for our Feb meeting.

Presentations on gallery requirements for submissions.

Presentations on online venues – requirements, shipping, pricing, site URL, liabilities, etc.

Still life mass studio event – maybe a workshop instead of a meeting

Questions were asked about the honorarium for the program presenters – in the past we have paid $50.
Discussion followed about having members give presentations on their art technique.
It was agreed upon to have our Christmas party this year a week earlier.
We will set it up for December 12, 2012.
New Business:
Steve agreed to put a slide show on our Website of the art work at Hunter's Green.
Carol discussed Art without Walls event coming up on May 5, 2012. The gala event is being planned to raise funds for the Pasco County Homeless Coalition. This event is being sponsored by Progress Energy Art Gallery. There will be a silent auction and a live auction for the submitted art work.
