Mainly a “self taught” artist, Dawn received all of her natural artistic ability from her father. Early on, her main focused was in charcoals and portrait drawing. She started painting when she was 18 and found her true passion in a paintbrush and acrylics.
Painting for the last 10 years professionally, her main focus has been on interior artistry on walls. Dawn has always worked large so the transition from canvas to walls was natural. The largest portion of her business is mural work with a specialty in Trompe L’oeil (“to fool the eye”). Now she has rekindled her passion for canvas work. The canvas allows her to be much looser and free than mural work, express her inner spirit and experiment with different mediums.
Dawn has had her artwork and faux finishing featured in a Southern Living Christmas showcase home; the Wyndham Palms Resort near Disney World; the cover of a Cookbook; at Busch Gardens; and numerous custom and showcase homes.
Dawn Neri-Renner was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio and moved to the Tampa, Florida area in 1996. She has two sons and a daughter. Dawn’s signature “Heart” paintings started with the idea of a series of painting for her daughter, Brynn, who has a rare genetic syndrome. They provide a way for Dawn to express the “hope, joy, love” that Brynn has brought to her family’s life and hopes they will enable others to enjoy and take a minute to remember the things that are truly meaningful in life.
