Carol was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and studied art and design at the University of North Texas and University of Texas in Austin. She married her high-school sweetheart Leo and moved to New Jersey.  Together, they have two adult children, Gina and Jamal. Carol ‘s first desire was to become a fashion designer but that was not to be since her first priority was to support the family and put her husband through Dental School. She completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Rutgers University in New Jersey while working for Mobil Chemical Company (now ExxonMobil). After 26 years of service, she recently retired from ExxonMobil as a Human Resource Manager for the Edison Chemical Plant.  Leo went on to become a successful Oral and Maxilliofacial surgeon, her daughter is a OB/GYN physician specializing in Uro-gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Hospital and her son is a film director/producer in Los Angeles.

Carol’s interest continued to be design as she pursued her art as a hobby during her professional career at ExxonMobil.  She and her husband Leo, moved to Tampa in late 2005 so that she could pursue her art career.

She works in acrylic paint and charcoal and is experimenting with a variety of textures. Carol’s subject matter includes abstracts, flowers, people and animals. She says, “I try not to reproduce a subject exactly but with a slightly different perspective. I want the viewer to either have an emotional reaction or be able to see many different things when they look at my work. “

Carol has also taken various drawing and painting courses at USF.
