Steve’s main photographic direction these days is towards expanding and marketing his photo wall art portfolio; although throughout his life, as primary careers permitted, he dabbled in a variety of other professional/amateur photo work such as portraits, weddings, advertising, aerial photography, and photojournalism.

Steve is mostly a self-taught photographer; though he has completed some formal training including courses with Nikon School, University of South Florida, N. Kansas City High School, DOD Public Affairs School, and with a commercial art photographer in Honolulu.

He has expanded his time devoted to photography (and tennis) since retiring in 2008 from his two main careers: 24 years as a pilot with the Army and Coast Guard, and a shorter second career with United Services Automobile Association. Following military assignments in numerous locations including Alaska, South Texas, and Hawaii; Steve and his family moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1989. He is an active member of the North Tampa Arts League, and has displayed and sold his photo art at various shows and businesses in the local area.

Steve works mostly with Nikon and Panasonic digital cameras; processes with several software programs; and does most of his own printing, matting, and framing. He also shows and sells his work online at  steven-sparks.artistwebsites.com . His portfolio galleries include Seashore and Tropical, Flowers and Foliage, Natural Florida, Picturesque Europe, Texan and Mexican, Cool Animals, At the Market, Black and White, plus a few Other Interests. He also offers photo art greeting cards.
